Another entry into Jeff's school preparation guide.

SERE is different from many other courses, and I will not be discussing any of the protected content.

1) Break your habits before you go! Caffeine, nicotine, and supplements. Wean yourself off of them so you are "clean" before you ship to SERE. You don't want to be cold turkey for 3 weeks absolutely hating life in a school that already makes it very tough. Caffeine headaches, nicotine withdrawals etc no fun.

2) Pack on a few pounds before you go. This is not a course where you want to have 8 pack abs and 3% body fat. You will notice those Soldiers with "a lil extra" are much less affected by the hunger than those "shredded" soldiers. Their bodies have some extra to use for energy. I lost 11 pounds in about 4-5 days, you will find it is much easier when you have some to survive off than those who don't

3) Study land nav before you go. Seems simple. There are plenty of people who are clueless about land nav and you will get lost out there. You don't need to be amazing at it, just remember how to dead reckon, terrain associate, intersect/resect, plot points, and use declination.

4) Don't be James Bond in Casino Royale out there, do what the instructors teach you.

Brother, it's an experiance. Nothing to prepare for. Have a mentality to be humbled. Not sure what C is but this is a good experiance. Good luck.

SERE-C was the SERE Course in Brunswick, Maine for Tier 1 & 2 Units back in my day, the only Level C until COL Nick Rowe built his at Camp McCall.. It was ran by the Navy is all I know of it. They beat the shit out of you. Put you buck asses naked in the snow on you knees for what seems like hours on initial entry, besides being hog tied in the back of a deuce & half with no cold weather clothing gear for a couple of hours. Put you in a 4'X4' cell and the rest was absolutely humbling. I don't think the CA dude knows what the levels are or maybe the army has gotten really soft and getting softer everyday. SF is reducing its standards for women. Hell the whole army will be sporting SF, SAPPER & Ranger Tabs by the time I buy the farm!

You’re sure as hell gonna learn a lot about yourself and push yourself to limits you didn’t think you could probably. Great training overall and don’t regret it one bit.

SERE-C is not what you think. Who ever gave you this guide does not know what he is talking about. SERE-C is not like other SERE courses. There is nothing you can do to prepare; just go. SERE-C is a Navy/ Marine activity unless it is the course at Camp McCall. My squadron went through the Navy course and it was hell.

MSG Danny Mathers SERE C is not a SOF only school. I'm simply providing some information to anyone who will be attending. It doesnt take away from any of the training value, especially the resistance phase to which you are alluding.

Also SERE C's proponent is the Army school at Ft Rucker, AL, other C level courses are based off of it for Mackall, Legune, etc
