I’m about to leave to basic training for the Air Force, pursuing TACP Specialist. The girl I want to marry is also a part of the Air Force but she’s in the National Guard in Oregon. If we were married, would she be able to transfer bases so that she could still work where I’m stationed? Or is she stuck in Oregon while I have to go elsewhere? (After all my training)

Amn (Join to see) click on the marriage tag in your discussion. Click the about tab. You need to review the Air Force's Married Couples Program. There is a link to info for each branch. They won't do ANYTHING until you are officially married.

I know the Army while honor a AD/NG couple, but understand that it is not a guarantee of being co located. ANG is state specific but you can transfer to another state's ANG depending on slots available. Your spouse could live with you and transfer or simply return for Drills. She could request release and go AD.

Maybe. If she can find a manpower position, "slot", in a Guard unit near your Active Duty assignment, then she may be able to make that move. There are technicalities involved with enlistments and one state ANG releasing her when the new state picks her up. If she can't be released, then she is stuck drilling at her ANG unit in Oregon. Hopefully you'll be stationed at an installation near an ANG unit that can use her AFSC and has an open slot. There's normally some flexibility in grade for ANG slots, but usually only one grade plus or minus. My daughter successfully transferred from the Alaska ANG to Mississippi ANG. She was a supply specialist at the time. She went from a "base supply" unit to a PRIME BEEF unit. I hope it works out for both of you!
