What is one post traumatic growth that you gained from deployment?

The post traumatic growth I gained was finishing my Bachelors pursing my Masters. Learning to listen more and being content with the little things. What growth did you benefit from after being deployed?

For many of us, yourself included, there is no road other than the high road to follow.
For myself, while I have sometimes lost sight of the high road, I struggled to follow it.
No one is perfect, twice I almost chose the low road but didn't pull the M1911 trigger.
Even so, in both instances the targets of this anger "voluntarily" chose the high road.
Being known for taking the high road w/nerve enough for risks opened opportunities.

<p>Respectfully, that is exactly what I am talking about how easy it is at times to allow frustration and being overwhelmed cause us to fall into the shadow side.</p><p><br></p><p>I wanted to bring this to discussion, to expound on choices and encourage those that are in pressing circumstances to maintain professionalism.</p><p><br></p><p>Thank you for sharing and especially paving the way before us!</p>

I concur, when you look at the USS Cole the stabilization of the ship was due to the CO of the ship conducted general quarter man all battle station drills.

To make sure i continue to follow SOP and other "rules" it helped us survive our EFP blast. So, doing the right thing does work. As for patience and tolerance and things like that, they are still hard to manage I guess, slowly but surely. I hope.
