Since COVID-19 restrictions have been placed, (I am tracking those who are flagged can request to take a record APFT to have said flag lifted) has anyone been able to take a Record APFT because they are in need of promotion points to make the cutoff score?

Yes they can. The first FRAGO released only said that the requirement to conduct APFT at certain intervals was suspended, it didn't say you couldn't conduct one. The second FRAGO clarified that you could conduct one if needed. There's nothing anywhere that says you can't take a PT test, only that Commanders are not required to take administer a record APFT right now.

Why not, the test is done outside is it not, within reason I think you could do the social boundaries thing.

1SG (Join to see) - True but he could wear a mask, I never understood why they never came up with a way of holding your feet without using a person, I know at Knox the gym has a bar to hold your feet and I like that much better than having some 5'8" 120lb person hold my feet.

This is how I do my sit ups at home. I have a bar on a door and do them that way. Being a heavy guy it’s hard to do well when they put the guy weighing a buck 50 on the duty of holding your feet SSG (Join to see)

MAJ (Join to see) - I know what you mean, I am 6'3" and when I was in the military I weighed in between 240 and 250lbs, and if you had some little fella holding your feet it was not fun.

That's also how I train at home. However, when you have a really fixed anchor like that, it becomes easier to use you leg muscles more than your abdominals and hip flexors. Your quads and calves can get some fatigue and can effect your run. If you use another person to hold your legs, there is a certain amount of give that prevents this from happening. (Especially if you are 6' and 200 lbs and the holder is 5'9 and 140, for example).
