Hello, How would someone go about giving up their disability rating? I'm looking to reenlist into the Army after a 7yr break but I have to give up my 10% rating.

SPC Daniel Romero I don't believe you just give it up Daniel, its more of a matter of waiving that 10% pay while you are back in the Army. Good luck.

SPC Daniel Romero - The rating is yours for life Daniel short of fraud. You are giving up the money.

You need to contact the VA and inquire.

You don't "give it up" per say. When you go through the process, the VA will see your active record and suspend the payments. Just note, any payments you receive from the VA after your enlistment date may have to be paid back.
