The embassy was closed and warnings have been issued for months now. Is it the responsibility of the USG to get those Americans out of Yemen that still remain?

If they had ample warning and time to evacuate that's on them. If they are embassy workers or military sent there on behalf of the United States government they should have been evacuated a long time ago. If they are just folks that decided to live there to work or whatever...Inshalla.
