I am looking at changing my career choice, I want a full career. Though I love engineering I don't think my body can keep up at my young age. I was looking at doing something with computers since I excel in that field. Not sure who I need to talk to and not sure how to pick another life in the military. Also, I am NG and not sure if going active would be a good choice.

You need to speak with your Career Counselor/Retention NCO

Career counselor is the most practical answer, but I would, of course, focus on CMF's that have a direct civilian equivalent, to maximize your gain while in service in terms of certification, training, skills and credentialing.

SPC (Join to see) I’m going to take a slightly different path. You say you want to do something with computers. What exactly? It’s a big field. That’s the question I’d answer for myself first as it will probably lead you to a lot of other answers on how to proceed.

Happy to answer any questions you may have in different areas (assuming I know the area).

SPC (Join to see) - If you are looking for an eventual job in the civilian world cyber security is a field that is likely to have a good demand paired with a good salary all the way through your career. I’d be worried a drone operator wouldn’t make it until retirement and have the possibility to largely be replaced by AI.
