The VA diagnosed me with a Anxiety Disorder and treated me for it as well as referred to me to my primary care doctor for a secondary issue involving headaches and migraines I have a sleep study August 21 this will be the first time after all of this is done for me to file any compensation claims I’ve done a lot of research but is anyone on here rated for anxiety issues?

SPC (Join to see) I am not rated for anxiety, but the sleep study will undoubtedly turn up sleep apnea. That can be anywhere from 30-60%. Do you have a VSO assisting you with a claim?

LTC Jason Mackay yessir that’s what I have heard but the notes from my anxiety appointment has a bunch of stuff from time in service to it on my e benefits so I think I’ll be good I hope so atleast, Also I have went to sick call for sleep issues while in service so they seem to think I have a case there if I have sleep apnea at my study

Good luck. I happened upon this and am interested because a friend of mine - a former Marine - just asked me about service-related issues and him having trouble getting anyone to help with “anxiety & claustrophobia”. SPC (Join to see)

Jenn Moynihan from my researched as of right step one is finding a service organization such as the DAV to help you out, Step two is walking into the mental health building at your local VA and getting seen, When I did that they saw me right away and had diagnosed and prescribed me medication that same day and it was all on my ebenefits the following day under my health report so now that they acknowledged and I am being treated for it that’s ready to make a claim on I also was referred for a sleep study and to a primary care team which August 12th i go to my primary care team appointment and they will treat me for headaches and any secondary issues and after that my sleep study and if they diagnose me with sleep apnea which I’m pretty sure will be done once all that is on my ebenefits profile the DAV will make my claims for my compensation appointments and that’s where they determine the severity and service connection and issue a disability rating. From what I learned it is all about having all your ducks in a row and a good plan then it’s basically a done deal

Keeping pushing. It will all get sorted you just need to keep applying pressure.
I don’t have a sole anxiety rating but a anxiety is part of my PTSD rating. Don’t stress about connecting the dots after the fact. I have been out 8 years and just recently had a couple ratings added afterwards related to hearing. Don’t stress and keep your head up

Thank you! That’s really my only concern is them saying I waited too long for it to be service connected I know 2 years isint a lot of time but still!

If they have diagnosed you with a anxiety disorder I would go ahead and file for that for compensation. It's when veterans file for things and are not diagnosed with what they are filing for that is a waste of time. Go do more sessions with a va therapist then file . A more guarantee that you will be rated at a higher rate. I am 70% combat acquired ptsd with a total of 80% tdiu permanent and total. Good luck brother.
