Does the Airforce ROTC program have a Guarantee Guard Commissioning route? Or is it strictly an Active duty Commission?

I am looking into what would be the best route for my sister. She is going to college out of State, and joining the Guard, Army or Airforce, would be a great route, since she would be able to 1. get some of her tuition covered and 2. get in state tuition. However she strictly wants to stay Guard and not go Active. I know the Army ROTC program has the SMP and Guarantee Guard route, however I am not sure how the Airforce ROTC program works.

If the Air Force ROTC offers GRFD it's not in the normal career stuff. I would check with the ROTC program since I am a bit out of date.
Whether she goes Air Guard or Army Guard, she should qualify for GI bill. I would check with the state about tuition reimbursement, some states that is only for in state schools. If she is MOS qualified, she can skip the first two years of Army ROTC, no clue about Air Force. There are Guaranteed Reserve Force Duty scholarships available in Army ROTC.

One other comment. You do not have to join the Guard in your home state. If your state doesn't reimburse for non state schools, she can join in the state where she is going to school. Probably simplify things too.

I believe it works very similar to the Army Guard but for the best most current answers I’d suggest she check with both her ROTC Detachments at her university or college. While growing up I had an older peer that went Marine Boot Camp and reserve enrolling in both Air Force and Army ROTC at UGA. He even tried Marine PLC a couple summers braking his leg literally. Ultimately he ended up going Army ROTC receiving his commission. He received a heck of a foundation in all three components before having to commit a army. He reached active duty retirement as a LTC.
