Would some that completed the bayonet training and assault course be authorized the bayonet clasp on a Marksmanship Qualification Badge?

When I went through basic training I was given the Grenade and Rifle Marksmanship Badges for having done the required courses of fire. However, we never received anything for the bayonet (an authorized weapons clasp) despite conducting the training and running the bayonet assault course. I was curious if anyone knows of any current regulation governing the qualification of the bayonet and whether those that completed the training in basic training would have meet the criteria to be able to wear the clasp.

Because Weapons Qualifications (regardless of weapon system) need to be qualified every year. Bayonet training was a one and done in Basic. If you don't qual, you don't wear. But, if you want the nitty gritty black and white written aspect:

1–32. Revocation of badges, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, and Sapper Tab
Sub Section C, part 11:
(11) Marksmanship Badges. An award for previous marksmanship weapons qualification is revoked automatically whenever an individual, upon completion of firing a record course for which the previous award was made, has not attained the same qualification. In the event a badge is authorized for firing a limited or sub-caliber course, it is automatically revoked if a record service course is subsequently fired. If the bar, which is revoked automatically, is the only one authorized to be worn on the respective basic qualification badge, the award of the badge likewise is revoked automatically.

Solid answer, I guess the more appropriate question would have been what was the standard to meet the qualification requirement and could it be obtained again? There is a discussion in my company HQ section about laying on training for the bayonet as an extra training event and curiosity arose as to whether it would actually qualify the soldiers on the weapon system or just be familiarization training like the shotgun.

SSG (Join to see) - This probably won't happen since the Army has been pretty much moved away from bayonet training/qualification. Also, the Army no longer has a scorecard so there is no way to have an accurate and up to date standard. Not saying y'all can't take old training manuals about bayonets and make a training event....just won't be able to do it for qualification.

Partially correct. Marksmanship badges do not "expire". They are revoked "whenever an individual, upon completion of firing a record course for which the previous award was made, has not attained the same qualification". The gaining or losing of marksmanship badges is event based, not time based.

Why would anyone want to wear a “Bayonet” clasp anyway? Wear your rifle marksmanship badge as required, don’t add the Bayonet, Grenade, Machine Gun, crap to it.

Don't be a hater :) When I was an E2 I thought having a clasp for the rifle, pistol, bayonet, MG, and grenade was the bomb. I wore my little ladder of success with pride. It might have looked like a WWI vet and a tad goffy, but I was pretty proud of it. Since there is no limit (that I see) on how many clasps you can wear, let the troop be a goofy as they want as long as they aren't breaking the rules.
