I'm considering a one-year ADOS tour in the EU. For this position, dependents are not sponsored (no paid travel and no special access privileges). However, I've heard its possible to obtain status for dependents so they can apply for a visa to enable them to stay longer than 90 days? Has anyone worked through this before and if so, what is the process?

I have seen a few in the Guard do this, some with back to back unaccompanied tours.
If you solve the visa problem, you can bring dependents over on your dime.
The kids cannot attend DODDS or DODEA schools (home schooling), the family members must all use Tricare Remote (no on post clinics).
