I was wondering under the UCMJ is it OK for people who are registered male to wear skirts and dresses while on liberty?

Personally, I think it's just fine --providing they have complimentary jewelry, accessories, and nice shoes. However, I don't think fashion is covered in the UCMJ.

We do have regulations regarding jewelry for appropriate civilian attire. I don't know if dresses & skirts are specifically prohibited however. I mention in my post this isn't a UCMJ issue but a Service Uniform Reg issue (Wear of Civilian Attire).

There's always that one E-4 that goes to the club wearing a 10 gallon hat, desert boots, Wrangler jeans and a brown t-shirt...  Sometimes he's an E-5... but they learn how to dress by E-6..

In the Air Force every day is liberty. We only wear skirts or dresses if we are deployed and going to the Ranger Hooch for Taco Tuesday.
