Massive erosion of benefits and services at VA Hospitals...but money and constant facility renovations continue to pour in. Curious if anyone else thinks veterans will be dumped off into a "doctor of choice" affordable abyss while their intended facilities get transformed into a social medical network.
Here are a few examples; Tomah, WI facility just reduced the services it offers to veterans and now in my rural area of Iron Mountain, MI our facility is reducing the ER and ICU but for the past 5 years I've been retired it has been under constant renovation (to include the new ambulance receiving area for the E.R.) Who really.. no... I mean REALLY has our back in the wake of this massive socialist medicinal transformation? Our benefits medical and otherwise are continually targeted for reduction or elimination yet... you know the rest..

I feel lucky to live in Alaska, where VA service are all but nonexistent North of Anchorage. We went through several years with 2 physicians in the VA clinic in Fairbanks, none of them staying for more than the 12 months of their contracts.

Thanks to excellent representation in Washington D.C. we have actually managed to increase the number of providers by adding 2 PAs. All of our other care, that which would otherwise take 30 days or longer to be seen, is taken care of locally. To date, I have had no problems with the local providers to VA payment system.

I do understand the problems in other States, and I sincerely hope that the reduction of services will eventually lead to the rest of the country starting a program similar to the one in Alaska.

Sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
