Can a soldier Commission or Warrant into another branch (Army to Marines, etc)?

When I got my commission in the California Army National guard, you have to be under 35 when commissioned. Looks like they pushed it to 42 years old unless it's been changed back. I commissioned at 33 years 9 months. Once your commission, you can always switch over to the Army Reserve if you are branch is different or if you want to switch. I went for military police to armor in the National Guard. I later went into civil Affairs branch in the Army Reserve.
Get your foot in the door and then you can move laterally though the Marine Corps is a different animal. You have more flexibility as a commissioned officer than a warrant. Nothing wrong with warrants but you're really restricted down a narrow path. Second Lieutenant at 33 years 9 months, for lieutenant at about 36 years old. Captain at 43. Major at 48, Lieutenant Colonel at 55. Retired at 59.

LTC Trent Klug I'm actually very grateful for the Army National Guard because I didn't want to do ROTC in the 1980s because I was afraid of the Cold War yet we are in the exact same situation but worse now thanks to President Biden being a weak president. The unintended consequence of President Biden Force feeding us the covid-19 vaccine is now we've lost three divisions worth of officers and enlisted so those who are in The Reserve component probably can get any position they want. It's really sad that Democrats still push the covid-19 vaccine in New York state before they can go to college.

LTC (Join to see) I was never going ROTC. I wasn't interested and had a full time career with the Bureau of Prisons. OCS was the only way for me. Having worked with ROTC students Asa candidate and a TAC, I know in my heart it was the right way to go.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter
One of my friends who was a MSgt I had served enlisted with had to get an age waiver to be commissioned and became a 2nd Lt. When He made Major i made SMSgt and We were both promoted in the same ceremony. He never expected to go past Major but He did to first Lt. Colonel, then Full Colonel which is the grade He ended up retiring as.

I commissioned (OCS) at 33 and a few months back in 2021. We had a few LTs that were 38, 39 and 40 respectively in my BOLC class.
SGT Rivera (prior Marine myself graduated in September 2006) generally the Corps doesn't play nice on these things however I did just come across MARADMIN 045/21 which included the following
"a. Officers on the Reserve Active Status List (RASL) of another uniformed Service may make application to the Marine Corps Reserve. Applications shall be submitted to CMC (RAM-1) no later than nine months prior the requested detach (transfer) date, per reference (b)"
Definitely would require a some more research but it looks like it may be possible for an a reserve officer in the Army to move over to the Marine Corps under the right conditions.

For warrants, it is possible. My Army Ammunition Technician (CW3) was an Air Force NCO prior to warrant.
The Marines are fickle about this so I echo MSG Livingston and advise reaching out to a Marine Officer Recruiter a Marine Warrant officer in the specialty you want to pursue.
