If they are adequately Trained Private Security Officers or Police Officers, I don't have a Problem with it but Joe Schmo with a Weapon that thinks he is Rambo is More Dangerous and I don't want him representing for the Professionals that are the US Military.

Makes me proud to be an American and serving member of the military to know there are those who will step up and support us.

Personally, I think it depends on who these armed citizens are. If we have off duty police officers who choose to use their free time to step up and fill in where extra patrols may not be able to, perhaps carrying/concealing a firearm as they walk around the area, then that's fine if they don't become a deterrent to those who normally frequent the shops/businesses. If it's every random person who owns a hunting rifle standing in front of the door in malls around the nation, then I think we need to let law enforcement (or those military members ordered to be armed) take care of it. I'm all for lawful citizens exercising their right to keep and bear arms, but I think if too many armed "guards" show up with something to prove, we've gone too far off the other end of the spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing your average citizen showing support for our military brothers and sisters. I just think that those who aren't necessarily trained to handle firearms in confrontations with the general public, with a bunch of testosterone flowing through a puffed up chest, may not be our best response.
