I am in the process of getting my experience transfered over to my civilian job, i was a 63B10 H8 ( light wheeled mechanic and wrecker operator). I brought the paperwork in to my current employer to sign so it will show im currently in the same feild of work, but they didn't understand how my experience was going to transfer over. My question is for those who has transfer your experince over how did your employer repond to it and did they understand that your military experience is the same or better than your civilian experience.

Not sure there is a 'transfer over' blanket policy. Certain fields will accept certain military certifications...but, aside from colleges accepting military schools...I don't know of anything transferring.

Check out the CPOL website and see the job description for 5803 Series or UsA Jobs for Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic and use whats applicable. The different pay grade levels will have more in depth skills.
