Ironically, chances are, it was all the running they did up to that point in their career that broke them causing them to get the profile.

I think the worst three months of my time as a 1SG was when I jacked my ankle up! The pain of not being able to run with my unit was worse than the actual injury!

I say that because I think it would be extremely hard to be a 1SG who cannot run with the troops! I would personally not want to be in that situation.

Just my .02 cents.

As long as he/she does not "hide" behind that profile, then no. Also those on that sort of profile should be trying to resolve the issue by all means possible and be re evaluated to see if it is even still necessary. I have encouraged many leaders to be re evaluated and to their suprise they were good to go and eventually got back to running with their Soldiers. Not the case for everybody, I know that, but with today's medical technology, and us having full care covered by Tricare, there is little that can not be overcome. Get the medical procedure done, attend (and actually listen) Physical Therapy sessions then be re evaluated by a professional when you feel that you are healed enough to start running again.
