The smell of a good cup of coffee is one of the best way to start the day. I would have to be a poet to describe the wonders and beauty of my favorite drink. Nevertheless, younger generations seem to have a strong preference for energy drinks despite the healthy risk involve in their excessive consumption. Is it a generational difference or a marketing issue?

Coffee, no contest. It's cheaper and is a lot healthier, as long as you don't add too much cream or sugar. There is nothing quite look a hot cup of coffee on a cold morning.

It appears to be both a generational difference and a marketing issue. What's not to love about some great java in the morning - or afternoon - or in the TOC in the middle of the night??

Sir,
I think a lot of it comes down to generational differences in the amount of sugar increasing over the decades. The amount of sugar that's present in the average American's diet nowadays is substantially higher than what it was 50, 40, even 30 years ago. I wonder how much of that change comes down to manufacturers realizing that sugar just tastes good.
