I was the Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Officer at NSWHQ (WarCom) from 1997-1999. best shore command I was ever at. I knew it could never be beat, so I retired after 23 years!

I was a commo, Radioman, and did my last tour at Team 6. Received training and did things I never would've gotten anywhere else.

True.....we fought to get our own NEC....Then years later they came out with SWCC. Difference is we were actually in the assault Team . Priceless years.

One of the most versatile platforms in the Navy was the Austin Class LPD. As CMC of USS Nashville (LPD-13) I can say she was used in a variety or missions. I do not think we ever went on a major deployment without a Seal Det. along as part of the crew and mission. At times we were used as a training platform for practice in taking over a ship at sea by both Seal Teams and Delta Force. Additionally, SBS used us as a launch and recovery vessel in the Med while working with our Seal Team. So, yes LPD-13 was working with and our crew spent time with NSW.

Sounds like you guys did some cool stuff with them. My carrier had some SEALs on it sometimes, but my DDG only carrier drone pilots.
