I'm confused by the discussion statement and when I go to the link it refers to what appears nothing to do with home loans. What I see seems to address National Guard, which are "State" militia as far as I understood it. Only when they serve in a combat zone does their VA entitlements begin to take shape. Am I misinformed?

The below mention is in reference to Federal employment and awarding reservist/former reservist Veterans' Preference by way of White House Petition in the following:

Addendum to law in title 5, USC, S 2108 (5 USC 2108), to include Veterans' Preference for reservist/former reservist with honorable or general discharge are eligible with 6 years of service in the Selected Reserve or National Guard.

At this time, the before mentioned law excludes reservist/former reservist unless other criterias are met. Reservist/former reservist have been sworn in, serve in military uniform and should not be treated as second class military personnel when applying for federal employment in the same class as GENERAL PUBLIC.

In closing, it would be in the publics best interest and the federal agencies to include reservist/former reservist in the Veterans' Preference pool with (NO PREFERENCE POINTS) awarded.

As of my signing in, it's 99,997. Once confirmed it should be 99,996 with the addition of my name.
I signed it because I support the issue as you outlined it above. The way the question was initially posed, I'm still at a loss. Maybe what the question means is that NG can get veterans preference on VA Guaranteed home loans, but nothing else? Please don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to be confrontational or difficult, I just didn't realize that NG got VA Guaranteed for home loans.

Understood, but not only NG are entitled to VA Home Loans with the criteria set forth, it also applies to selected reserves meaning; Army Reserves, Air Force Reserves, Marine Reserves, Navy Reserves, and Coast Guard Reserves.

You know what I don't agree on is that (& I'm sure it's also applicable for the reserves as well) in the NG you can't use your home loan until you've put 6 years into service whereas active duty can use it after 90 days... So 3 months of active duty is equivalent to 6 years NG/reserves?

True, I see where you're coming from, but the benefit that I'm trying to put out there is non existent unless other criterias are met, but it has to start somewhere...

SPC Antonio E. Reyes - I know & I signed your petition. I'm just speaking on yet another (in my opinion) injustice.
