Do we need to protest like WWI veterans did to get the support we need, well as long as they don't sent the Army or Marines to remove us from the front of the Capitol build.

Today, not a good day for me, but as I read this it stuck me how a generation of veterans was looked after, considered a vital part of the nations economic recovery after the war, and yet today they take more and more of what we have, all the while they consider giving themselves a pay raise because 175,000 a year is not enough to live on.

Like I said, today is not a good day. Hope all have a great day.

Are we talking about the "Bonus Army"?
I don't think that worked out to the benefit of the troopies...

i am not suggesting we riot or anything like that. My thought was that the government during WWII put things in place to assist their returning veterans. Our current system failed from the first day bombs started falling in Afghanistan. It continues today but at an exponential rate with federal government cutting back our benefits, fighting to allow a veteran on how they should use their benefits, school vs a business (equally funded), VA hospital vs a hospital or clinic that can actually help without the 18 month wait list. I see it every day, the look on our veterans as they walk into a VA hospital, at the homeless shelters full of veterans along side junkies and criminals and even families. In the parks, under the bridges of the elevated trains in Chicago.

Then there are the "support" and "resources" that have no clue on how to reach veterans, waiting for them to walk in the door. Not connecting with the local Guard unit or Reserve center. Too many issues, not enough being done.

Like I said, it's not a good day today. NO revolts, but something needs to change.

I want to say yes, because I do not see the AC military coming out and removing us from the grounds, whereas I do see local police reluctantly doing it. We have a lot of power as vets in the voting booth and that is where our new fight needs to be. Instead of 5.56 rounds in a tight group, WE need to be that tight shot group and put into office non career politicians who recognize our plight and have a strong focus on making things better. And should this person be corrupted by those already in office, then we have the right to put him out and pit in another. That simple ballot is the greatest gift we ever fought for yet the one gift we take for granted. That ballot = freedom pure and simple. So let's exercise our freedom and do the right thing.
