Last week I mentioned Reasonable Doubt, which also features Adam Carolla. I was going to try and avoid mentioning his show...

However he put on his "Take a Knee" podcast this week with Mel Brooks, which is basically a 60-90 minute conversation/interview with what he calls Luminaries (Shining Lights).

The reason I decided to mention it, is because they spend sever minutes talking about Mel Brooks' World War II service as a Combat Engineer, and how much it means to him.

Mr. Brooks, at one point actually breaks out his Ike Jacket, complete with ribbons to show Adam. He hasn't worn this in 70~ years. But he had it in the room (which I assume was his office). It meant that much to him, even now.

Worth a listen.

I find it increasingly amazing about the number of entertainment giants who were part of the Greatest Generation who never made mention of their service, or bragged about it, or used it to advance their careers. One of the greatest and most humble was Charles Durning. There are so many. I salute every one of them and the sacrifices they made for us and the Free World.

Excellent share. Mel Brooks has always been one of my favorites.
