I have three suggestions which deal with your current operational system concerning the assessment of certain points, hyperlinks, and group ranking structures.

IF you are taking suggestions, here are three.

1. DO NOT give 10 points out for every time someone visits the page of another Rally Point member. Do it once a week, month or year, no matter how many visits. My computer was acting up a couple weeks ago, and some member on here got about eight hits from me (80 points) because my computer was "farting while channel surfing." In fact, my vote is that you visit a person's page, you get so many points ONE TIME and never again.

2. UN-hyperlink the name of the person who has done something to warrant me, for example, receiving points from something that member did involving me. A majority of us view Rally Point on our smartphones or tablets. When I, for example, try to hit the link that states the source of my points from that person, whose (now) hyperlinked name is right above the source of the points, my chubby fingers oftentimes hit the name and, guess what, I'm viewing that person's page and they get 10 points...which was not my intent. I'm forced to try again, this time making sure i hit the right link which is microscopically close to the hyperlinked name on the aforementioned devices because the screens are so small.

3. Why are SM persons (Serving Members) broken down into groups by rank? By doing so, they "compete" for rankings within groups that are many times smaller the largest group of all: Veterans. I have an "R" by my name. There are thousands of members who have a "V' by their name. Why am I in a group of 370 thousand "Veterans" when I am retired??? Why am I not in a group solely for "Retired" members??? Why are there no rank groupings in any of those two categories of members like there are for SM members"??? A serving Major "competes" against one thousand serving Majors. I, a retired SCPO (E-8), "compete" not only against ALL Retirees of ALL ranks, but also ALL Veterans of ALL ranks. I sure don't think someone thought this one through. It's patently unfair and inequitable.

That's just for starters, but those are three biggies in my book. I firmly believe that correcting them would really clean your system up a lot and make it more competitive, which your points' system is, whether you intended it to be or not.

I would even prefer if they dropped SGT from mine and used Mr. Calling me a Sergeant is sort of demoting me lol.

Once heard a CMSgt speak of constructive criticism. He said in effect - BS all criticism is criticism. There is no constructive to it.
