Dr Carson doubled down today with his Muslim comments & that has the Liberal Media Talking Head's Hair on Fire. They are pushing for him to withdraw from the race for president..

Dr. Carson expressed his opinion and the media is on the hunt. The Donald has no filter and they just let it go.

SFC Stephen King you are not allowed to point out the double standard. Shame on you. Please report for indoctrination.

Seriously, I think that they let Donald Trump go because they still don't take him seriously as a candidate. IF he is still leading when they get close to the convention, then anything he says will be scrutinized. Until then he can say and do anything and nobody will call him on it.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - "Ben Carson doubled down on his anti-Muslim comments Monday, even as a growing number of prominent groups and lawmakers called for the retired neurosurgeon to exit the 2016 race."

I don't know who are the prominent groups and lawmakers??... We have two Muslims in congress so they are passed but not sure who else is..??

I think that at this point in time, he's right. Islam runs counter to our government, it does. As many have said before, Islam is a religion/form of government/lifestyle that isn't compatible with our laws and form of government, no matter what many liberals may think. Why was it even brought up? Maybe someday we'll have a Muslim in office, but that time isn't now and IMO, the opinion of the majority here in the US would have to completely change how we feel about the religion. It doesn't represent the majority, our culture, or our values as Americans. What is next? I for one am tired of the new effort to cater to everyone because it's the PC thing to do, majority still rules last time I checked.

I disagree sincerely with Dr. Carson. His views on who can and should be president are in direct contrast with Article 6 of the US Constitution, our governing document.

The last 20 words of Article 6 read, "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

A Republican who I have a ton of respect for, and who, to this day I would vote for if his name were on the ballot, made a very profound statement regarding this very topic during the campaign of John McCain. I've linked it here.

What an idiot. He is running for president but he doesn't know that the Constitution allows of -no- religious test for office?

Idiots like Carson I get.

What I don't get is why -anyone- would think he should be in the race, let alone vote for him, or Trump either.

Before you consider the Trump/Carson ticket, watch the recent movie, "Lincoln' with Daniel Day Lewis. Lincoln was a shrewd master politician. Watch how he works to get the 13th amendment passed. It ain't brain surgery and it ain't the art of the deal that Trump is familiar with.

And it is a great movie too.

Yeah, I know a lot of people on RP will have the attitude, "Oh geez, Lincoln", for the same reason they have the attitude: "Oh geez, Obama."

"I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that,” the retired neurosurgeon said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” creating an outcry from the leading Muslim civil liberties group in the nation."

At least the good Dr Carson had the right stuff to make a politically incorrect statement. How many have Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, or Bernie Sanders made on this subject???

I believe Dr Carson has to have known that Sir but he said he would not want to advocate a Muslim as our president. It could be that because there are many Republicans who agree with him. And with all due respect so do many here at RP & no way would I call them "idiots"...just folks who are not afraid to speak their minds, I guess??

I would not want to advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation either.. But then again there are some Christians I would not advocate for president either ..I don't think I am an idiot yet but maybe just an Old Fart who is sick of seeing Liberals look for something to tear a man down ad nausea....& with that Goodnight and Good luck!!

Sgt Tom Cunnally - He made a statement he shouldn't have made and didn't have to make.

Which is how you know he should never be president.

The way politicians answer a question like, “Why did you slaughter wild geese on your last hunting trip?” is to say, “I think it is important to remember that wild geese are not an endangered species.”

What has been maddening in the last 15 years or so is to have a politician dodge a tough question and the questioner/moderator not ask the most obvious follow up questions. Argh!

Recently though, when Cheney blew off a question about the Iranians going from -0- centrifuges to 5,000 on the Bush/Cheney watch, and Cheney said it was on Obama’s watch – the FOX News guy said again – “No that was all prior to 2009.”
