You have to be brave to answer this one. I will present a few options: Work, PT, eating, Surfing the internet, dipping, smoking, extreme sports, drinking, cards or gambling, drinking coffee, running, and of course messing with the LT.

I came in right when the internet was taking off...1990, so I blame the military....and RP. I did a stint with dipping, but only leaf, couldn't do the worm dirt. You can be infantry and not dip, right? And of course, coffee. I do like a fine beer, I prefer German beers, but who gets picky when it is free?

Add your addictions as you see fit...carry on, the LT has left the building, not lets rat**ck his gear...

Working till the job is done. I am a true workaholic. I have high standards and it drives me crazy when others don't. I get wrapped up in my work and forget to take breaks and what time I am supposed to go home.

I show up at least 1/2 hours early to events and I come unglued if somebody is 30 seconds late picking me up to go somewhere. It's a big pet peeve with me.

Copenhagen long cut wintergreen. Never touched the stuff- other than trying it once or twice- until I deployed. Who the hell picks up a nasty habit like that in their mid thirties? The idiot in the picture to your left. Other than that, most of my bad habits were pre existing conditions to military service. In my first go around, back in the dark ages, I briefly flirted with hard liquor during my active duty time. That just didn't stick. Thank God. I love beer, but hope I never experience another whiskey hangover as long as I live.

I know a lot of people have said this, but being on-time/early or agitated if I''m not.

Oddly enough, avoiding walking on ("Sergeant Major's") grass, if there is a sidewalk available.

I wish I could have replaced a few of my addictions with many of the healthy ones that are posted here!

I do still go to an AAFES barber shop on a monthly basis. I got hooked on the massages when I was in Korea, and as a result kept my hair very short, even when I had more hair. =)

1LT David Moeglein I've had something similar in PI, they rub you down, hot shave, and even adjust your neck...wth? Funny thing is, now I am a chiropractor giving adjustments to the neck and back.

Eating food too quickly and not enjoying it and never really comfortable putting my hands in my pockets when I'm not in uniform.

I started drinking coffee, because it was the only hot thing to drink during a cold training exercise, haven't stopped. Started smoking of course, but kicked the habit 8 years ago and never looked back. I too share the love of German beers and rarely drink any other beer, other than guiness.
That's all I can think of now.

Coffee definitey! A good cigar and scotch occasionally...and a love for competitive shooting. Though I don't compete anymore, I now coach my daughters...

SSgt Burt Zoellick, you are carrying on a fine tradition. I girl/lady/woman that can shoot is a lot more apt to carry her own when TSHTF. I think all fathers should mentor their daughters/wives on gunmanship...you SSgt are leading the way. We sometimes forget the basics.
I haven't personally been able to stomach Scotch, but do like a find Rum or Whiskey. I love shooting, and hope to take some competitive courses. One cannot have too much training in that department.
I recently watched a store video of a competitive shooter draw down on someone robbing a Walmart...it was pure moto.

Better to be prepared rather than a victim...1 out of 3 women are victims of some sort of crime in the U.S. I have 4 daughters...to me, the math was simple...teach them, reinforce that training, and hope that it doesn't happen. But if it does, hopefully they will be prepared.

I never drank coffee until I joined the Army. True Story. Don't know how I ever got along without it!
