So I am planning on a trip to Texas from North Dakota in the near future. I have been told I might be able to bring my cat with me. How do you go about purchasing a ticket and letting them know you are bringing your cat as a carry-on? Looking for all helpful advice/tips anything.

Call the airline Melissa. They will provide you all the steps that you need to take. Sometimes you need pet documents and validation that they are current on shots!

TSgt Melissa Post you may be able to find info on an airline's website and thru that, advise them you want to, or will (depending on their policy) be bringing a pet.
I do that because I travel with a wheelchair and when I check-in, they already have someone from the ground crew to take it at the aircraft's entry door and load it in baggage. Likewise, when I exit the plane, it's already at the plane's exit door for me.

Hope when you go, the cat has a nice trip, and you also.

Thank you. Me too. I don't really have anyone else to watch him while km gone and I'm afraid to leave him with someone at their house for multiple reasons.

I'll be following this discussion myself. You know, the whole 'if so and so is elected I'm leaving' thing. Leave no cat behind.

Count me out as a cat lover but you probably picked up on that from before. I love my dog but she doesn't travel with me. It's so much easier to get a sitter to check on them, walk them, feed them and leave them home...just my 2 cents worth twice! he he

SFC Jim Ruether - I had someone watch him last year but it is really stressful looking for someone.
