Prior service Marine and I recently switched branches and MOS so I have to go to AIT. My question is, do I get issued uniforms before going to AIT in my reserve unit?

You're supposed to get them. That said, if supply isn't very high-speed, you'll be waiting a long, long time. Unlike you, I went from active Army to the Reserves, so my duty uniform never changed, but as soon as I got to my Reserve unit, supply supposedly put in for the new dress blues. Despite numerous follow-ups, when I got out 5 years later, I was still waiting for them.

It took my former unit 10 friggin months to get me my uniforms and about 1 year to schedule me an AIT date.

SFC (Join to see) It took my former Reserve unit about a year and a half to get me a reclass slot; though part of the issue was money, the other part was a former AGR training NCOIC who would rather write romance novels (I kid you not!) than cover-down on his own tasks.

SGT Dave Tracy sounds about right. To this day, I'm not sure how the reserves managed to sustain the force. I'm glad to be back in the active component for sure!

SFC (Join to see) - Operations always presented unique challenges. We once had our fuel cards shut off as soon as we arrived at Ft. McCoy for our 21 day AT. Not good when you're a transportation company! LMAO!
Still, believe it or not, my Reserve unit was a better run operation than my two AD units.
(OK, 2 battalions within the same BCT, so, maybe more accurate to say "almost 2 units" or "two units same umbrella"? I donno, I get wrapped around the axel on such dumb things.)
