Am I able to get a waiver for my GT score for RASP and sniper school? If possible, what is the step for getting a waiver?

I wanna join the RASP ranger and sniper school, but my GT score is 98. Am I able to get a waiver for my GT score? If possible, what is the step for getting a waiver?

Waivers are possible, but not for a GT that low. You'll need to retake the ASVAB.
But you can still go to Ranger School with your GT

Worst they can say is no, however...
Last I knew, RASP would absolutely not waiver the GT score. And I highly doubt they would change that. Their standard actually came from averaging GT scores from across the Regiment. They did not want to mirror SFAS and flip-flop back and forth depending on if they needed numbers.
Sniper school may do a waiver, waivers for TRADOC schools are usually due 75 days before the class starts and must he signed by your Bn CO. They are approved somewhere in Building 4, not the school house. Being that Sniper School uses a lot of math and brain power, I'm not sure they would accept a waiver for that.
Your best bet is raise your GT score, get a self study book, take the FAST class, and retake your ASVAB. Pretty much anything cool in the Army you need a 100 or 110 so knock it out now!

I've heard that RASP used to do waivers, but they stopped because it just didn't work having SOF be those few points lower. Guys couldn't operate at the level they needed to.

SPC Elijah J. Henry, MBA I went in 2012, they weren't doing waivers then. I think they made that call when they made the GT standard 108.

Yes you need to absolutely raise that GT. Go to your education center and get set up for FAST class or GT Improvement and then retake the ASVAB.

CPT William Fleenor - Not sure what you are getting at. But I am a recruiter in Montana for now so not too sure how the local Air Force Base ed center would help this young soldier.

The Rangers are looking for elite and smart infantry.
You need to get those scores up. If you don't care enough to do this little thing, why should they accept you over hundreds of other applicants?

Study and retake the Test. there are special courses at the Education Center and on line that can help you Improve Math, Science and Communication skills. If math was the Problem, you definitely need to improve that skill set.

You need to go to your installation's education center and take the BSEP training and testing to raise your score. Waivers are given by the schools.

If those schools were easy, we could let anybody in. The Gt is set high for a reason- the ability to think things thru. Waivers are not the answer. Get an ASVAB guide, study and then request to retake the test- if you don't make the 2nd time, then change your wants to something you can accomplish.

If you need study material for the ASVAB, DO NOT Pay for it. http://www.march2success.com is what we used in recruiting and it works. I also have the Fast Class on digits if you would like a copy. It's called BSEP I think now, but it's the ASVAB study improvement class docs.
