Dude, I’m going to keep it simple with you. 90% of the military can’t wait to take the uniform off after working all day. 5% of the remainder are strictly running errands so their spouses don’t kill them, the other 5% are privates who think wearing the uniform off post is cool and they will get free shit. Don’t be that guy, especially if you haven’t gone to basic or AIT yet.....

It sounds like you just want some attention along the lines of “Soldier walks into a bar with no intention to drink, thank me for my service.”

Don’t be that guy

Not trying to be that guy at all. My Parents came into town because I got a day off at AIT and they wanted to go to a brewery to go try beers. Me being 19 I wouldn’t drink I’d just sit there and drink water and chat.

(Join to see) , if is a restaurant setting you could go with them but stay away from the bar. Just get a table and you’ll be fine.

If the primary source of income for an establishment is alcohol, then it would be of ill thought process to enter such an establishment while in uniform, even though you intend not to drink alcohol.

MSG (Join to see) - Not to start an argument, but when did that rule come about? Back in ancient history, while I was in, a person could not wear fatigues, but if in Class A's they could go wherever they wanted.

AR 670-1, ch 4-3 para. C.

c. Restrictions on wear. (1) Personnel may not wear the combat uniform in off-post establishments that primarily sell alcohol for consumption on the premises. If the off-post establishment sells alcohol and food for consumption on the premises, Soldiers may not wear the combat uniform if their activities in the establishment center on the drinking of alcohol.

Nonetheless, not worth it.
