I attended the 2nd Deloitte CORE Leadership program back in June of this year. I had been out of the military for 6 months at that time and applying to Graduate School but still did not pick up the skills needed to succeed in the civilian world. To put it bluntly, I believe the TAPS program across all services is inadequate. This program is exactly what TAPS SHOULD be. It teaches you skills such as personal branding, interviewing, resume, and most importantly networking. It is all pro-bono program conducted by Veterans who work in Deloitte at their beautiful campus at Westlake, TX with all expenses paid for. Best of all it is not a recruiting program for Deloitte (even though they are an amazing Vet friendly company). It is all based on us Veterans and how we can succeed in transitioning to the civilian corporate environment. The link for more information is below. Feel free to contact me for more information.

No problem!

I have heard from many friends who retired that TAPS is inadequate and simply exists as a box to check on retirement. Seems like Deloitte is a great Vet friendly program.

Yeah TAPS is basically worthless...we literally had a briefer telling us that we need to be prepared to have cell phone bills when we get out. We spent 15 minutes on interviews and an hour on the VA process and Federal Job process, this was all out of an entire week. It is definitely a box checker program sadly.
