SSG Avonye Chisolm was on RP not long ago telling of his efforts to feed his Rangers outstanding meals. I had several messages from him regarding his skills and efforts. I hope he finds another kitchen to be happy in. May he RIP. COL Sam RussellTo: CSM Charles Hayden
"""Roger that CSM! only while working on the grill did I not wear headgear. It's actually within the new ServSafe Manager exam. Wearing headgear while working on extremely hot grills have the potential to singe pieces of said headgear and get into the food. Granted, it unltimately doesn't matter because of the fact the grill gets so hot it would kill any bacteria short of white phosphorus haha. But, If my superiors wanted me to wear headgear while on the grill..I follow orders CSM. Thank you for your endorsement""""

In Answer to the Question...
I have known many Who died or were Killed In training events ...
from Accidents in Convoys on the "Autobahn", to Drowning on JCETs In Malaysia , in Qualification Courses events to Malfunctions on proficiency Jumps, Crash landings during Night landings, to Flying into low hanging Power lines, Troops being Crushed between or Under Vehicles during Desert Training Operations... Not to mention miscalculation on "Arty" Charges, to Poor "Calculation and Placement" on Demo Charged...
may They all RIP...

An incredible loss. I got the opportunity to talk with him via RP and he was a focused and driven young man with a plan. RIP.

Roger Sir. Tragic news. I was away on a camping trip when this happened and MAJ Weiss notified our team about it. As a community, we'll miss him and his contributions. He was always quick to offer motivating and positive advice for anyone on RP looking to join the Ranger Regiment.

As a former 92G30P this is sad. RIP brother we have this until we meet at the grill in the sky. To other SM's remember one thing death will take you if your are in your first enlistment or your last, don't take life for granted. But also don't use the I am ETS'ing to stop you from being a Solider.

We had an attempted suicide back in 2006 during our final FTX for BCT. Never heard if the guy pulled through or not. Had two battles almost die prior to this. One who had to be rushed to the hospital for strep throat AFTER passing his PT test, and another due to over-hydrating. It was 130+ heat index, and he drank way too much water. Other than that, the only confirmed death I can recall by name was a soldier I trained with at Ft. Sam Houston who died on Christmas Eve due to sleep apnea while on leave with his wife and young daughters. I know it isn't due to training, but he was one hell of a motivated soldier medic, and weighed heavy on all of us. As for this Ranger who has lost his life training, Rest in Peace brother. Till Valhalla.

He didn't have to make the jump, but he did anyway - a true Ranger at heart. Rest in Peace!
Also, you're right. He was a member on RP..
I've lost friends already. Most recently a friend in the same BUD/S Class as me was KIT in a parachute accident.. That stuff hurts, but you know they lived and died doing honorably.. In our memory, their legacy lives on.

COL Sam Russell I was going through a JRTC rotation while he commanded , I almost did not recognize him at the AAR. His beard threw me, he looked Taliban, capital T.
Darron was a staff officer in the G3 and I was a staff officer in the G4 in 7ID 99-01. Many TDYs to Arkansas and Oklahoma advising the 39th and 45th Infantry BDEs.

RLTW!
From SSG Chisolm's RP bio: "Well rounded, positive, capable, effective, and resilient. These are qualities that describe me as not only a Ranger but as a person. Being a part of the Ranger Regiment has taught me a great deal about myself and human behavior. With this knowledge I have been able to effectively lead individuals through daunting task with little to no sleep and food while maintaining positivity among the team in order to provide exceptional logistical support."
