I was recently promoted to Sergeant 2 months ago, I haven't obviously gotten my first NCOER so with that being said I still have 3 years before I can even submit/finish my packet. I have NET+ and SEC+ certifications, working on CEH at the end of this month. And I am currently at an Army 25B broadening assignment. Any advice would be helpful.

SGT (Join to see) send me an email and we can talk. I did my whole packet while sitting in the same seat you are in right now.

You are definitely on the right track with a couple of CompTIA certifications already. You should seek out a Warrant Officer for mentorship, as you will need a letter of recommendation from a CW3 or higher - along with a letter of recommendation from you Company and Batalliom Commander when the time comes. Keep your PT score up, add some college, and keep your evaluations strong and you will be good to go. Hopefully this helps.

SFC Dejesus, I am almost finished with my Associates Degree. Working on PT everyday, I had really good leadership at my last unit, however here there is no Company, Battalion or Brigade. Its different Directorates and their Commanders. I will have to look into that part further and the Senior Warrant Officer LOR. Thank you Sergeant.

SGT Addi, hit me up on DISA EE at [login to see] . DISA has a CW5 who I personally know, so I'll introduce you to him, and he can introduce you to some CW3 working there for mentorship.

The warranty officer candidate selection boards look for the top NCOERs, especially those with strong leadership and character bullets.
Talk to your leadership about your goal. Hopefully you have good, supportive leaders that will help you with your packet, and give you opportunities in a leadership role. Take the reigns whenever you can.

Thank you Sergeant. I have been requesting soldiers to counsel, mentor, and overall supervise. The problem with being in a joint environment is they tend to give all the supervisory roles to other branches. Example: Air Force E-6 supervising all Army E-4s...
