It appears I have developed a small Ganglion Cyst on my wrist. It gives me slight discomfort while doing pushups. Anyone have any suggestions on lessening this by variations on hand placement?

go to an urgent care facility or Doc in a Box and get it taken care of...
when you watch them take it out you will understand why...Hopefully they will not rupture it... the stench is Unbelievable...
Take care out there...

I got rid of one on my left wrist by doing pull-ups and hanging by my hands for a while. I thought that if I expanded the joints it just might pop back into place, and it did, sack and all.

Capt Seid Waddell interesting. I have noticed that if I do pushups after pullups, I don't experience as much discomfort.

SSgt (Join to see), in my case I noticed that the ganglion formed when my wrist was extended (away from palm) with force.

Capt Seid Waddell - Same here - in that typical 90 degree bend of the wrist.

Fist push-ups helped me when I dealt with a torn scapholunate tendon (in the wrist).

There's also handles from Dick's Sporting Goods, a TRX cable system, and suspended cable rings.

Or be hardcore and do them on your index fingers.

Any ideas on ways to improve your push ups with a Ganglion Cyst?

Fist/Knuckle push-ups may help, that way your hand is straight in line with your lower arm. That or if you have push-up handles they can also aid in that. If you don't have handles but have dumbbells (preferably with flat sides so they don't roll on you) they will also work.

As others have said, may want to get it checked out. I understand you are trying to get back in through the Guard but sometimes you have to serve yourself a bit before you can serve your country/state. Get yourself well brother, and best of luck on your Guard stuff, hope it works out for you.

Keep your ears peeled, we're supposed to have an airshow again this year. I've heard a little bit about it but no info yet on what aircraft are coming. The little bit I have heard is that it's going to be aimed more at vintage aircraft so hopefully a lot of cool WWII birds.

I am NOT saying to do this, but the traditional method of getting rid of one, is to smack it with a large book. FYI: there are some funny videos of people doing this on YouTube. A doctor will most likely drain the fluid (aspiration) with a needle. Either way, once it is removed you shouldn't have problems with push-ups.

Traditionally, you use a Bible. Don't know if it was because it was the largest/heaviest book in most homes, or because the user was inviting divine intervention.

I have limited mobility in my wrists, and for most of my Marine Corps career, I had to do pushups on my fists to keep my wrists straight. If you gotta do pushups while you have that cyst, you might try that.
