Have you ever found yourself on mail buoy watch?

Ever been handed a kapok life vest and broom and told to fend off any monkeys that try to board during a Suez Canal transit?

How about being sent after the elusive ID10T that the chief needs right away?

I'd like to hear some of the other service gags run on the new guy. Let's hear em please!

Ahh, the ingenuity of joes. Do you have any chemlight batteries?

The aviation among us will certainly have had a turn guarding the approach gate, as well as fetching prop/rotor wash and a spool of flight line.

Ever change the bearings on your muffler? That one about the improper headlight fluid damaging the blackout drive was awesome!

Hmmm...
Worked in the motor pool as a wrench.
Was always fun to tell the cherries "you need to go get some muffler bearings".

Laughs ensued

i need you to go get an exhaust sample kit from the prc-e7 in supply, if they are out you can just use a trash bag to collect the sample.

Anybody know where I can find a bucket of steam and bottle of bulkhead remover? I'll help you look right after I pick up that relative bearing grease! Lol!

Ooooh that reminds me, when I was at my MOS school at NAS Pensacola, our new Indocs would always show up in the middle of the night and be given their room keys. We used to tell them they needed to take their Mattress down to the Quarterdeck to be inspected. It was especially good when we'd get guys checking into rooms on the fourth deck.

They're right next to the grid squares and chow line.

the PRCE-8's are in the 1SG's office. They're high-dollar items.

No, but I was asked one time by a CPO to get a transceiver modulation capacitor converter? I went out on deck and had a smoke.

Go check the brake fluid on a 7-ton.

Get the keys to the HMMMV.

The best one was to go find the blinker fluid. So we came back with a box of Chem lights .

It works. Especially when you are getting ready for a training movement.
