I often think back on my time in service and think to myself “ Thing were so much simpler in the military. I didn’t even have problems matching my clothes.”

I take pride in my military career, but I don't miss it. I PCDed 9 times in 20 years. I deployed 3 times. I like my creature comforts. Being retired is very stress free.

I am going to say this with the greatest humility and candor. Sometimes when it snows in Kansas I look outside and think about the Continental Soldiers leaving blood in the snow b during the Revolutionary War because some of them did not have proper footwear. Then I feel small and insignificant compared to their sacrifices.

I miss interacting regularly with people who had shared values wrt honesty, reliability, work-ethic, etc.
