Did you ever have to carry one of these old Detex clocks around on watch or security patrols? My brother said that the CG base in AK where he was stationed had one and someone clipped all the keys and put them on a ring so they could punch the clock while they watched TV and not have toactually walk around and check things.

4th Option. Yes I've seen it and have used the stuff that replaced it and I know what it is but thank goodness I've only had to use the "Wand" and the "Gun".

That's a cool looking clock. Looks very steampunk. Now they would need to use HID card at. Adios points and send an automated email to your boss.

I think most Detex station keys have been replaced with video cameras. Now someone sits in an air conditioned room and monitors everything at once.

That is pretty cool Chief. Did it punch a card at certain times? i ask because you said someone clipped all the keys and somehtin about punch the clock.

You wound the clock up and inside was a piece of paper with a time graph printed on it. As you made rounds to various buildings and places you were supposed to check, you stuck numbered keys with typewriter tips on them into the clock and punched the paper inside. When you were done with your patrol, you turned the clock in and the supervisor unlocked it and took the paper out. Ge would check it to make sure you had punched all the keys and he could see when you had been there.
