Anyone stay at the New Sanno Hotel in Tokyo yet? (https://www.thenewsanno.com/) It's apparently a new military hotel just opened. Sort of like the Hale Koa and Shades of Green but run by US Forces Japan if I read it right. I'm planning on taking a vacation out there next year and curious what the general opinion is compared to other hotels in the city.

It's on my "Japan bucket list" the next time I go.
Everything I've read about it is very much like the Shades of Green comments - Luxury hotel at a fraction of the cost.
There are the normal 'couple of sentences' type reviews on Tripadvisor*, but the best writeup I saw was in a travel blog I follow (Poppin' Smoke*) that's written by a spouse of a military retiree.

I stayed at the New Sanno a few months back, and it was a pretty solid option. It’s definitely more low-key compared to other hotels in Tokyo, but it’s got a cozy vibe and everything is well taken care of. The location is convenient for exploring the city too. If you're military or have access, it's definitely worth it for the price. While planning the trip, I found https://explorejapannow.com/2-week-japan-itinerary-for-families-with-kids/ really helpful. It gave me some great ideas, especially if you’re going with family or kids and need a fun itinerary.

The New Sanno has been around for over 24 years. I stayed there when I was assigned to Yokota AB in 1999. It was and probably still is run by the Navy or at the very least a Navy theme with regard's to the NEX there. The rooms are first class and they have Japanese style rooms as well. The restaurants were fine, as well as the fast food area. The subway is nearby, short walk, which will take you to other parts of Tokyo. The hotel is in a secure area, gated, and has bus service to local bases for a fee. It has limited parking and I'm sure you'd have to get prior permission when you make your hotel reservations. I highly recommend the New Sanno. I also stayed at the Westin Tokyo around 2010 and both hotels were on par, with the New Sanno being less expensive and with lots of US perks.
