Are members worried about the possibility that cease fire in the Korean War is in jeopardy? If so, what should we do as a country?

Negotiate? Been there done that. A waste of time. Do nothing? Been there done that and the ambient threat keeps rising. We're out of options. All that is left is preemptive strikes on strategic targets. Hopefully, President Trump can make the deal of his life to get China to cooperate. Maybe allow China to occupy North Korea as a protectorate?

CPT Jack Durish: maybe I'm just dumb but how would the "protectorate" option work? What would happen with just increased sanctions and declaring NK a terrorist state.... ?

SFC William H. - Declare NK a terrorist state? What would that do? I think the man-child running the place would take it as a compliment. Sanctions? What are you going to deny them? Their only real trading partner, China, has already embargoed purchases of NK coal. What does Kim need of money? He just takes from his people what he wants and lets them starve. How would the protectorate option work? Any way China wanted. I'd rather not like seeing China expand like it did into Tibet, but that's how you make a deal. You have to give something to get something. And no, you're not dumb. Dumb people don't rise to SFC.

We've tried everything else; if we don't strike them now we will have to face their nukes in our homeland a little bit later.

Capt Seid Waddell
MCPO Roger Collins, we currently have a carrier task force and nuclear submarines off the Korean peninsula; I have an idea that we can bring any conflict to a quick conclusion.
If it comes to that. Currently, China is massing troops on the N. Korean border, and has turned away coal freighters from China's ports. I think that the Chinese have the power to force Kim Jong-un's hand - and if that doesn't work I believe that there will be a kinetic solution to the problem by China, the U.S., or both.

Capt Seid Waddell - A conventional action would result in the decimation of Seoul, SK and other cities near the DMZ.

Not sure what you mean Nuclear Powered or Nuclear Weapons. Further, what type weapons, if you are referring to them. Ballistic Missile subs are deterrent, if they fire, we are at war. Otherwise, there presence is top secret. Fast Attack boats could be used for tactical purposes, but even then, IMO, it's more for practice and testing rather than necessary. This is my take based on 21 years on submarines. Unless we are hit with a first strike nuclear attack, it's doubtful we would use nuc weapons. And that's my concern, the results on SK. JMHO

I think your question is actually asking about a bigger question than the decades old cease fire in Korea...that has been hot and cold at different times in its history. North Korea plays its games and the World watches until they get tired. North Korea's leaders should not fall for the lies they are telling their own people...that mistake would be fatal.
