Are military/veterans the true World Class and the true Elites of the World?

An old Army buddy told me this is how he feels. He tells me I'm World Class all the time. Perhaps read some of the comments. I for one know we are World Class Elites. As many of our allied nations military's also. I think some people are equating this to arrogance or conceit. Par for the course these days. This is really quite interesting how the answers are playing out. It seems some people think it means arrogance or conceited. That's not at all what it means. This requires further analysis. Very interesting.

Your question is vague and filled with "suggestions". What is it that you are actually asking?

It's not vague if you don't try to read into it. Just read the words. We are the elite. We are World Class. That doesn't mean arrogance or conceit. If you take it that way then you are arrogant and conceited. I'm replying to other comments.

I think you need to define "World Class" and "true Elites of the World"? If one thinks soldiers and/or veterans bring a special skill or attitude, then the percentages, especially on the World stage, could play out? I think it is pretty clear the US military is the unquestionable best military in our current World? Definitions within such a question define the answer?

The rich are not the "elite". They are the privileged. Regardless of how they attained their money. They are the privileged. We are the World Class Elite. Because we go anywhere in the World and are the elite forces of the World. That's what he means I think. He is ex SF, but he also recognizes that the military, of mainly allied nations, are elites. Then there are elite classes among the military also, such as SF etc. So elites among elites. Basically I think that is what he means. I still tend to agree with him, no matter what anybody else thinks. It's not arrogance or conceit. Like I stated on a post above.

I have no problem with how you are defining this and your respect for our soldiers and veterans. My reply was really what is a 'World Class Elite? There are a LOT of service members and even more veterans...they are ALL World Class, and then you add elite? I would same there are a couple, but there are some turds too?
If the question is too our entire military compared those of other nations, well then we are the 'elite' in the World. No nation on the planet could go toe to toe with us tomorrow, and they know it. Not saying we could walk over everyone without loss or permanent damage, but we are still the only super power.

MSG Brad Sand - "If the question is too our entire military compared those of other nations, well then we are the 'elite' in the World". That part. I'm pretty sure that's what he means. That's how I see it too. No, we can't walk over everyone. But yes, World Class as we go all over the World, and Elite as a title because well, I guess like you stated above. This is how I see it. I am pretty sure my buddy means that too. I'm not arrogant or conceited in any way. But I do however feel our military and veterans(though maybe not at present) are World Class Elites. I think you really got it, and honestly helped me to understand what he means too. Thank you.
