Are the leather low quarters still a thing in the Army? Does anyone wear them? If so, how do you like them?

I have a few military graduations coming up that I am attending, and our First Sergeant will begin doing monthly ASU inspections, the corframs I was issued are scratched beyond repair. Are the leather low quarters still a thing in the Army? I know they are authorized for wear I feel like they will be better than the corframs, is it frowned up or widely unknown that they are in regulation. Does anyone wear them? If so, how do you like them?

They are still a DSCP item in clothing sales, you'll have to ask for them. Be prepared for double digit man hours to get them to standard between saddle soap, dying, polishing, edge dressing, and buffing, alternating neutral and black polish.

Thank you sir. I am trying to look most "squared away" I possibly can. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

SGT(P) (Join to see) - regulatory information: 670-1 defers you to DA PAM 670-1 18-25c which authorizes the dress black Oxford shoe in detail....in short, plain and in leather, patent leather, pororemic materials with non contrasting heels/soles.
You'll still walk around like a T Rex to ensure no one scuffs them.

I dug through the regs when my shoes needed to be replaced. I now wear commercially available oxford style low quarters, they are vastly superior to the garbage plastic shoes.

If you don't have any experience spit shining leather to a high gloss, or have a professional shoe shine nearby, definitely stick to the fake leather. I spent hours over the course of days shining my old oxfords and they still never looked as good as the coroframs we get now.

MAJ Ronnie Reams no, not anymore. In fact, outside of Bragg, it's almost impossible to find a boot shop

SFC (Join to see) - Gosh, I guess the no shine boots kinda killed them. Used to be at every barbershop, club and other places there were plenty.
