I am headed to OSUT at Ft Leonard Wood for my prerequisite for 37F and was wondering if we got to bring Go Pros and record (record things like regular videos, airborne jumps, etc)

Do yourself a HUUUUUUUGE favor. Well, a couple of them. First, leave the GO PRO at home. Seriously. Leave it at home. Second, what ever is on the packing list you were given, take only that. Take nothing else except what is on the packing list.

PFC (Join to see) - not being Airborne qualified I'm not the guy to ask, but my Army hunch is don't ask, don't tell, but if a non authorized piece of equipment causes you to crash and burn into the ground no one is going to say you were given the OK. So I don't think anyone is going to give an OK, unless by some magic the Commanding officer wrote a specific policy in regard to said Go Pro's and outlined their use down to the littlest detail.

That said, don't be the first to use it without seeing how others around you use it. Remember, if you injure yourself it's also a piece of evidence to show how potentially you didn't execute your training correctly.

The blade is sharp on both sides.

I also recall watching an airborne drop youtube video where THREE vehicles all crashed and burned out the back of an aircraft ONE AFTER ANOTHER. If you were on that plane in the cargo area, and wearing an operating Go-Pro while those were pushed out the back, well, I wouldn't' want to be you.

SFC Steven Borders - Yes, there was a guy that took a selfie of him and his pet fish in a bag on his last jump for the Army. He got an Article 15, if memory serves.

He did take his fish on his jump but that was his last jump and he was being chaptered out in the next couple of days so I really don’t think he cares lol SFC Steven Borders

Follow the packing list to the letter and well....Follow the packing list to the letter and do what the drill sergeants say.
Just for Giggles and Grins, picture in your mind a trainee that wants to get out of formation to film stuff and bugs the drill sergeant about it and the drill sergeant reacts like a drill sergeant is likely to act and the next time that soldier sees his Go Pro it is filming from the holding tank of a field latrine.
Basically son, that drill sergeant is likely to take it away from you and you will never see it again. You want to avoid becoming what we used to call the "Spotlight Ranger" The "Spotlight Ranger" found it hard to just graduate. It would suck to film stuff you did not pass.

If you show up with ANYTHING not on the packing list, it is likely to be taken and locked up where will may be able to earn limited use of it.
