Artillery is being exchanged. Tensions are high. The already tenuous situation feels like it's eroding faster. Are we on the verge of another Korean war? Why or why not? What will it be like 2 to 5 years from now?

I'm in korea now and nobody is getting over stressed about this exchange. South fire 36 rounds back at Norths 1 round. South is still pretty pissed about the Soldiers injured by mine planted on Souths side. Were ready if need be.

Good to know that our men and women are safe and that South Korea is handling this. To bad the middle east won't take South Korea's example an handle their situation.

Yeah, it's business as usual here. I find myself constantly checking the news for something to happen. It's pretty much suicide for the North to try anything during UFG when all the allies are postured and ready.

Meh, this happens fairly regularly over there...It happened when I was stationed over there last year...
Just a lot of posturing if you ask me...North Korea pushes the limits...South Korea answers back...things go back to normal for a while. Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Like the atittude! Do you think that North Korea will ever commit to an all out offensive against South Korea?

In my opinion, I don't think they will as long as we are maintaining a presence there. While the little man up north IS crazy, I really don't think he has the balls to step up to the plate and swing. He sure talks a good game though.

SCPO David Lockwood - Not a chance in hell. He knows he'd jeopardize his steady stream of underage girls.

Technically the war never ended. I believe it's a ceasefire. The two Koreas exchange heat from time to time with no full scale invasion in the works. This event was pretty significant, however. Unsure of any casualties. 2-5 years from now will probably be the same. Random skirmishes and shellings.
