My ego screams "yes" but my knees and bank account scream "no". However, if there was a national emergency and was recalled, hell yeah I'd go but we'd have to be in some hurtin status for them to call me.

They had to throw me out kicking and screaming. There would have to be a hellova dust-up for them to call me back at 60 years old. But I'd do it, in a second.

I served 30+ years and retired in 2013 - I absolutely would do ANYTHING for any of my brothers and sisters in service - even go back and fight with them if I could!

It was a total shock going back to civilian life, I don't like it a bit. I would go back in a heart beat!

No I basically just sit at home and watch the world go by. I have a hard time getting out. I have trouble walking due to a muscle disorder, my spine is trashed and my heart is not much better, I've lost about 48% of the heart muscle. So I pretty much sit here and try not to let my kids see how much I'm losing my mind or failing

CPL Roland Newton, Is there anything you could do with your hands?
CPL, You Are a NEEDED/LOVED man in this world.
And CPL, the VA Hospital in your area, can probably set you up with an organization called Help Hospitalized Veterans. I receive gifts from them quarterly; I believe. They are gifts of things, such that you can make something out of them. They have gifts that you can make; such as a wallet, a knitting set, [Men knit, as well as women now ;)] etc.
And one time I received a regulation flag (US) from them!!! :) :)
God bless you and comfort you; CPL Newton.

If I could roll the odometer back four decades I would be back in as soon as they would accept me. My AF years were the best years of my life.

SPC Margaret Higgins, I have had a blessed life after the AF, but the best and most meaningful years of my life was when I was serving.
