Managers have subordinates. Leaders have followers. If you look at your troops and don't see any followers, you aren't leading.

I am not sure one can really be honest in their assessment of themselves. I never met anyone that thought they were a bad leader. If the worst think they are good. It would be something that my soldiers would have to answer.
