The pros are getting your story out to the wider military community and scholars interested in military-related matters. The only con is that, as a government publisher, we do not pay our authors. That said, we do permit dual publishing, meaning that after we do all the extensive editing required to make your manuscript publishable and then conduct our initial publishing of the book or paper, you are free to publish it with another press as well, including those who will pay you royalties.
