Are you required to pass a PT test prior to basic to be an Army officer?

I can't find any mention of it on the army website as a requirement, but my recruiter is telling me that I have to pass a PT test before I can do the commander interview or go to board.

You are given a diagnostic test prior to shipping to determine your current capabilities. It is a requirement to take not pass prior to basic. And it is abbreviated as well, not the full on APFT we currently take. 1 min SU/PU and 1 mile run.

I believe you are granted the time in Basic to prep for and pass the PT test. Your goal is not only passing it, but doing well on the PT test because you are competing against other folks.

A sugestion: be in the best shape you can get regardless if you have or not to pass the APFT before shipping out. Basic Training will not be enought to get you where you need to be for OCS. Not only that, your Drill SGTs will know that you are in an OCS track and will develop additional attention - and definitely unnecessary - towards you.
