I fit right in that category, sir. Still serving, being shown the retirement door. Being a reservist, I don't have any real transition issues to speak of, but not looking forward to negotiating the USAR and VA bureaucracies. I'd rather have a root canal

Don't underestimate yourself because you didn't achieve all you have by luck or fate. Just stick to what has worked for you in the past and present it in a civilian fashion. It's always uncomfortable when you first jump out of the box you've been in for years. You'll look back in a few years and realize it was much ado about nothing. You'll be fine and good luck.
