There are a lot of non Quatermasters soldiers running the Arms Room of their Unit, How do you run yours? Any advices?
Or, are you an Inspector? How do you run your inspections? What you don't tolerate in an inspection? Anything that should be avoided at all costs?

When I went to Arms School, they had this posted on the exit door. If the mission was to never forget it, then MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! SPC David S.

SSG (Join to see) fun fact about my inspection, I posted this Safety Message in my arms room because I thought it was good to have it there. Then the inspector once asked me, do you have any Safety Messages posted? He look at the picture and told me, Ok, I see you have one there, should have more posted but I'll give you the Yes since you have it posted and the checklist doesn't state how many you need posted.

Get with your S2 and ask for help. They are supposed to oversea the arms room program in the lower echelon. They should have a checklist from the physical security which overseas the arms room program on base. If I am not mistaken, they should conduct an annual inspection on every arms room.

SGT(P) (Join to see) I think you are already ahead of 60% of the armorers. It is just my imaginary wild subjective guess. Please don't quote me or use it for factual statistic purpose.

SFC (Join to see) had INSCOM yesterday and today in my arms room, didn't went bad but there's a lot to improve. Good thing is the CW4 that did the inspection was really helpful and this was a courtesy one. Now, there's a lot of work to do, as they say, I'm gonna be a STAR! hehehe

SGT(P) (Join to see) That's good. As long as you know what the deficiency is; you can fix it. Afterward, it is just a simple job to maintain it.

From previous experience as a inspector, one thing that always killed some arms rooms is the clutter in the floor, or behind doors. Everything else I saw is pretty basic, do your inventories, ensure that you fill out the sf702 and have a current sop in hand and you will be fine.

SPC Mark Beard THANKS! I think that my weak point and where I need more help is the Physical Security. Since I'm in a joint Arms Room, and we are the tenant, great part of the responsability goes to them. At the same time, if them, or we, fail we both fail.

Is there any Armorer that is currently running an arms room? Or somebody that has recently run one?
