Another unnecessary data breach, separate from the OPM, but just as damaging if not more so.
ARLINGTON, Va. – Former and current members of the Army National Guard could be affected by a breach of personal information, Guard officials said today.
This incident is unrelated to the breach of federal civilian employee personal information reported last week and on Thursday by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), officials confirmed.
“All current and former Army National Guard members since 2004 could be affected by this breach because files containing personal information was inadvertently transferred to a non-DoD-accredited data center by a contract employee,” said Maj. Earl Brown, a spokesman for the National Guard Bureau. The data includes the Soldiers’ names, full Social Security numbers, dates of birth and home addresses.

SPC (Join to see), yes, they never screw up. That's what I like about them. Also, you don't have to provide insurance.

Seriously, I don't know if you got the VA letter I did about 4 years ago that said all 25 million of us had our records "stolen" that were on a "laptop" the VA had somewhere someplace.... Sure as Hell 6 months later I found out I had my identity stolen not once but twice! What a freaking mess. Oh... Ya'
I did some detective work and found out that merchandise had been shipped to an address as well as a land line set up at an address in Milwaukee Wisconsin (We Live in Green Bay Wisconsin) and we reported it to Brown County DA's Office. Filed all the proper paperwork and gave them the addresses and accounts etc. Called every Week for 3 months until finally someone forwarded the call (maybe by mistake) to the Brown County Sheriffs Department. There I was imeadiately told that nothing was done because the Brown County DA doesn't prosecute criminals in Milwaukee County and it was UP TO ME to file another report with the Milwaukee County DA. By that time they were Gone! So Much for looking out for the taxpayer!
