This might be a very specific Question and might depend on the company but I am looking for more of general answer based on some of my fellow reserves experiences.

The "goal" was one year out of every five for RC soldiers. Deployments for CENTCOM are now down to 9 months, but Atlantic Resolve is a year. Depends on many factors. Plan on a year plus mobilization/demobilization time.

LTC Jason Mackay covered it pretty well! BTW there are no more 6 year contracts. It’s been 8 years since 1986 or 1987 I know because I signed one of the first 8 year ones prior to getting commissioned while in ROTC. I’m pretty sure your referring to 6 years TPU and 2 IRR but in case someone else reads the post just clarifying it.

With hot spots in AFRICOM, Philippines, As well as the deployments to Korea, Kosovo, EUCOM as well as Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and the Sinai its still a strong possibility in 5-6 years for a deployment in the Reserves MAJ Ken Landgren so it’s best to be prepared either way!
